Netflix Cancelled Daredevil After Third Season
Daredevil has been canceled by Netflix after the third season. This time we can’t say this has come to us as a surprise as Netflix has already canceled Iron Fist and Luke Cage.
Netflix has released a statement regarding the cancellation. They said:
“We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.
“We’re thankful to showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and an incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years.”
“The Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel,” Netflix further added.
As of now Netflix and Marvel have canceled three shows this year which includes Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil. Now only Jessica Jones and The Punisher are left.
It is also important to keep in mind that Disney is also preparing to launch its own streaming service in 2019. After which all the Disney-owned shows will not stream on Netflix.
Marvel Studios have also started to prepare themselves for some original series for the service. And characters like Loki, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier are the ones who will have their series.
Talking about the announcements Disney CEO Bob Iger said,
“This acquisition and the launch of our direct-to-consumer services mark an entirely new growth strategy for the company, one that takes advantage of the incredible opportunity that changing technology provides us to leverage the strength of our great brands.
The media landscape is increasingly defined by direct relationships between content creators and consumers.”
“No one is better positioned to lead the industry into this dynamic new era, and we’re accelerating our strategy to be at the forefront of this transformation,” he further added.
Everything is going to get very interesting after the launch of Disney Streaming Service in 2019.
