Marvel Might Get Back The Rights of Spider-Man, If Apple Purchases Sony Pictures
A few days back Variety made some predictions of what is going to happen in 2019. There were some very interesting predictions on the list. But one of them which caught our eye was Apple buying Sony Pictures in 2019. If this happens it can shake up the Hollywood in 2019.
According to Variety, Apple is deciding to take this step so that they can catch up with Netflix and Amazon in the streaming market. And with Disney even making their way in the streaming market by next year. They think it is a good plan to buy Sony Pictures as they can enter the market quickly and easily.
But, there is a problem as the value of Sony Pictures is $1 trillion (approx). Which is a very massive amount. So we really don’t know how this will happen but no one knows it might happen.
If Apple purchases Sony Pictures then they’ll have control over some of the interesting IP’s over which Disney doesn’t have any control. The list includes Breaking Bad, Jumanji, Men in Black, Breaking Bad, and Spider-Man.
A tweet on the internet has revealed which is really interesting. As it says there is a clause in the contract specifically related to Spider-Man IP. According to which if Apple purchases Sony Pictures then the rights of Spider-Man will be redirected back to Marvel. Which is a kind of good news for Marvel as they will have the production rights of Spider-Man again with them. But still, they will have to put a solo movie under the banner of Apple Movies for sure.
But as of now, there is confirmed news about the deal. As no one knows what will happen. So now we all have to wait and see what happens.
